Kendrick Foundation Scholarships

   Morgan County residents are reminded that the Community Foundation of Morgan County and Kendrick Foundation Scholarship applications are due by Friday, February 22, 2013 to either of the foundation offices. Applications must be received in the office no later than 4 p.m.
   The CFMC offers Morgan County residents an opportunity to be awarded scholarships based on selection criteria requested by the donor of each scholarship fund. Around 43 different scholarships are available and some are awarded to multiple recipients. There are two categories in the CFMC Scholarships Program, one for high school seniors and one for non-traditional/post-high school Morgan County residents.
    The offered scholarships are for students interested in the healthcare field.

The scholarships are solely for tuition, with a maximum of $15,000 per person per year. Applications are available at the Morgan County high school guidance offices and library branches in Morgan County.    For any questions, call (855) 280-3095 to contact CFMC (Community Foundation of Morgan County). CFMC offices are located in both Mooresville (250 N. Monroe St.) and Martinsville (56 N. Main St.). Hours for both offices are between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Homecoming Queen Candidates by Abby Cox

Senior Peighton Noel is nominated for queen for winter homecoming court. Noel’s activities include cheerleading, HOSA, and she is the Editor-in-Chief of The Pulse. Noel’s favorite things include sushi, her best friends, fleetwood mac, and her two dogs. Her love for animals has influenced her to pursue the career of a veterinarian.   Senior Taylor Robertson has been nominated for winter homecoming queen. Robertson’s activities include cheerleading, Key Club, Best Buddies, and will soon start unified track. Robertson’s favorite things include mac and cheese, the color yellow, her dogs, music, hair and makeup, and the artist Russ.
