Athlete of the Week

Female Athlete of the Week: Golf: Senior, Jessica LacerJessica placed fourth at the Shelbyville Invitational over the weekend with a score of 86. She personal best score helped the Girls Golf team capture their first tournament title of the year with a team score of 354. Jessica beat her previous personal best score by over ten shots. “Jessica has been working really hard at some important things in practice over the past two weeks. It was great to see her have such a great round and validate her effort. Jessica has been an emotional leader for the team. Many of the girls listen to her positive talk and get a boost from her positive energy. She’s really helped the team be successful this year,” Coach Franklin said. With the tournament victory this weekend, the girls golf team now has a record of 29-15.

Male Athlete of the Week: Soccer: Senior, Cory SimsCory had a great week, scoring seven goals in the three games helping the team to a 3-0 week.  He has shown great leadership and incredible team play in being a part of several other goal scoring opportunities throughout the season.

Homecoming Queen Candidates by Abby Cox

Senior Peighton Noel is nominated for queen for winter homecoming court. Noel’s activities include cheerleading, HOSA, and she is the Editor-in-Chief of The Pulse. Noel’s favorite things include sushi, her best friends, fleetwood mac, and her two dogs. Her love for animals has influenced her to pursue the career of a veterinarian. Noel is being escorted by junior Sam Henderson.

  Senior Taylor Robertson has been nominated for winter homecoming queen. Robertson’s activities include cheerleading, Key Club, Best Buddies, and will soon start unified track. Robertson’s favorite things include mac and cheese, the color yellow, her dogs, music, hair and makeup, and the artist Russ.
